The Ministers of Finance of the member countries of the European Union have agreed to share 920 million euros for Hungary, within the funds for recovery after the coronavirus pandemic, and amid the tensions of the EU leaders with the Hungarian Prime Minister, Viktor Orban.
The EU executive last month approved the plan for Hungary to spend 10.4 billion euros for post-pandemic recovery, but the release of most of the funds has been suspended until Budapest meets the conditions for implementing the law.
However, about one billion euros have not been conditional, said the spokeswoman of the European Commission, Veerle Nuyts, on November 23.
