France, received threatening messages, the judge who sentenced Le Pen is taken

Judge Bénédicte de Perthuis has been placed under protection and a patrol of officers has been deployed in front of her home.

The judge sentenced Marine Le Pen to four years in prison, two of which without parole with an electronic bracelet, a 100,000 euro fine and five years of disqualification with immediate effect for fraud and embezzlement.

Following the decision, which risks preventing Marine Le Pen from running for a fourth term for the Elysee in 2027, the judge was the target of "many threatening messages", which led security forces to increase surveillance of her home in Paris.

In a message published on X, Justice Minister Géerald Darmanin described as "unacceptable in a democracy" the threats "made" against the magistrates of the Paris Court in charge of the trial in the case of the National Assembly assistants.
