Attack in Romania, Medvedev openly threatens Europe: Prepare for war

A serious incident recorded during the night between May 28 and 29 has raised the red alert in European chancelleries and escalated tensions to critical levels between Moscow and the European Union.

After a Russian drone violated the airspace of Romania, a NATO member country, and crashed into a residential building, the first official and harsh reaction from Russia has come.

The Deputy Chairman of Russia's Security Council, Dmitry Medvedev, has issued a direct and dire warning to all countries in the European bloc, making it clear that such events will not remain isolated, but will become a new reality for the continent.

In his statement, Medvedev argued that European states can no longer pretend to be mere outside spectators or mediators in this conflict. He described Europe as a direct participant in the fight against Russia, due to the military and logistical assistance it is providing to Ukraine, adding that this positioning comes with high costs.

According to the senior Russian official, the citizens of the European Union must understand that they are now part of the reality of war and for this reason they will no longer be able to sleep peacefully, just as the population of countries in open conflict cannot sleep either.

Medvedev particularly emphasized those European countries where drone production and assembly factories have been established and are operating, which supply the Ukrainian army, or as he called them, the Banderist formations.

He suggested that these locations are legitimate targets and that similar incidents will continue to occur, urging Western governments to prepare for the consequences and not just make diplomatic complaints about drones being shot down over their territories.

This open threat comes on the heels of a massive drone attack by Russian forces on civilian targets and critical infrastructure in Ukraine, very close to the border with Romania. During this military operation, the Romanian Ministry of Defense confirmed that one of the drones lost control or deviated from its course, entering deep into Romanian airspace.

The aircraft crashed into the roof of a ten-story residential building in the city of Galati, causing a large-scale fire and great panic among residents of the area.

Local authorities in Romania announced that two people were slightly injured in the accident, who received first aid, while emergency teams quickly intervened to isolate the flames.

The incident has brought a harsh and decisive reaction from official Bucharest. The Romanian Foreign Ministry immediately condemned the incident, describing it as a serious and completely irresponsible escalation of the security situation by the Russian Federation. This episode has raised major questions about the security of NATO's eastern borders and is expected to spark strong discussions on air defense measures in the region.
