Israel stops aid ship to Gaza, detains Greta Thunberg and other prominent activists

Israel has intercepted an aid ship traveling to Gaza and other prominent activists, detaining those on board and taking the ship to Israel.

The Freedom Flotilla Coalition (FFC) previously said that the Israeli military had boarded the ship "Madleen", which was trying to deliver aid to Gaza.

“ The passengers are expected to return to their countries of origin, the group attempted to stage a media provocation whose sole purpose was to gain publicity. There are other ways to send aid to the Gaza Strip — they don’t involve selfies on Instagram, ” the Israeli Foreign Ministry said in a post on X

Israel had warned it would stop the aid ship from reaching Gaza and described the ship as a "selfie yacht" carrying "celebrities".
