"The time has come to seriously commit to peace"/ Von der Leyen supports Zelensky: We are working on new sanctions against Russia

EC President Ursula von der Leyen: I know that the changes we are going through are historic. Today, Europe has woken up and we know that we need to move forward, we need to build this resilience of ours and expand the network of partnerships. We are used to the fact that when there are big crises, Europe is the one that gives big answers. Europe has emerged from crises bigger and stronger. Europe has become more united at this turning point in history. This is why the Political Community was also created to bring peace to the continent, while Russia has left Europe. The fact that we are sitting with you Volodymyr, shows our determination to preserve the sovereignty of Ukraine. Along the way, most of the EPC countries have supported sanctions against Russia. Russia's gas revenues have decreased by 18%, inflation is rising. We are ready to do more to bring Putin to the negotiating table. To be clear, we want peace. We are working on new sanctions, Nord Stream or the Shadow Fleet. The time has come to seriously commit to peace
