Truck with 130 kg of cocaine seized in France, three Albanians in handcuffs

French police have arrested three Albanian citizens, who were caught after approaching a truck carrying 130 kilograms of cocaine.
The incident occurred in France, while authorities are continuing their investigations to clarify their role in this case.
According to French media, on the night between Friday and Saturday, January 31, customs officers stopped a truck near Castets, in the Landes region, where a significant quantity of narcotics was discovered during the check.
Following standard procedures, the vehicle was seized and taken to the city of Dax, where it was placed under surveillance by law enforcement. During the night, three people with Albanian citizenship approached the truck and were arrested in flagrante delicto, then taken into custody.
Due to the large quantity of drugs seized, the investigation has been entrusted to the Bayonne Judicial Police, under the authority of the Interregional Specialized Jurisdiction (JIRS) of Bordeaux. The Bordeaux court has confirmed that the case has been taken up by the JIRS, stressing that at this stage it is still too early to provide further details.
Sources close to the investigation indicate that during the detention sessions it was not proven that the three Albanians had come to receive the drug shipment. As a result, administrative measures have been taken against them.
Authorities have imposed a ban on entry to the city of Dax, where the truck was seized, and one of them has been ordered to leave French territory. Investigations to fully unravel the case are ongoing.
