Merz, Starmer and Macron arrive in Kiev by train

Leaders from France, Germany and the United Kingdom arrived in Kiev this morning after an overnight train journey from Poland for talks with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy, in a show of unity a day after Russia's Vladimir Putin hosted his allies at a Victory Day parade in Red Square.
Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk is expected to join the three leaders at this meeting.
This is the first time that the leaders of the four countries have traveled together to Ukraine.
The summit will discuss a US and European proposal for a 30-day ceasefire in Russia's war in Ukraine, which if rejected by Moscow would be followed by the joint imposition of new sanctions, a French diplomatic source said, adding that this step has not yet been finalized.
