Iranian President: We will not build an atomic bomb, but we will not stop uranium enrichment!

Iran is not seeking to obtain an atomic bomb, but insists on its right to continue enriching uranium.

So reiterated Iranian President Masoud Pejeskian, shortly before talks with the United States began this afternoon in Switzerland.

"This is nothing new and we can also declare in writing that we have no intention of building the bomb," Masoud Pejeskian said, according to the Iranian presidency website.

"However, we will not give up our right to enrichment," he added.

The Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT), to which Iran is a signatory, guarantees this right for civilian purposes.
