Attorney General and Ombudsman resign in Venezuela! Interim President Promises Judicial Reform

Venezuela's Attorney General, Tarek Saab, and the People's Advocate, Alfredo Ruiz Angulo, have submitted their resignations to the country's National Assembly, the secretary of this institution announced today.

According to the president of the National Assembly, Jorge Rodríguez, deputies will elect temporary replacements until the appointment of a new Attorney General and a new Ombudsman.

The development comes after Venezuela's interim president, Delcy Rodríguez, in late January promised reforms to the country's judicial system.

Authorities have not yet provided details on the reasons for the resignations, while parliament is expected to begin procedures for temporary appointments in the coming days.
