"Train your mind"/ Pope Leo XIV calls on priests: Don't write sermons with ChatGPT

During a meeting with the clergy of the Diocese of Rome, Pope Leo XIV urged priests not to use artificial intelligence to draft their sermons.
The Pope stressed that overreliance on tools like ChatGPT could harm the personal and spiritual formation of clergy.
"If you don't train your mind, it will atrophy," he said, underlining the importance of reflection and personal preparation in religious service.
According to him, artificial intelligence cannot replace spiritual experience and personal testimony of faith.
"AI will never be able to preach faith," the Pope stressed, adding that Christianity is not about the formal recitation of prayers, but about a living and authentic relationship with God.
His statements come at a time when the use of artificial intelligence is rapidly expanding in various areas of life, including communication and religious education.
