Russia accuses the West of Serbia: You are destabilizing our ally

The Russian government accuses Western countries of fueling tensions in Serbia. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said Moscow hopes the outcome of Western intervention in Serbia will lead to "further strengthening of friendship" between Belgrade and Moscow.
While the spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Maria Zakharova stated that "The efforts of the collective West to destabilize the situation in the country are obvious".
After the violent protests, the first meeting the Serbian president held was with the Russian ambassador in Belgrade.
We recall that the police on Sunday evening used tear gas to disperse the protesters who oppose the election results.
Many of the demonstrators tried to force their way into the City Hall building, breaking the windows and clashing with the police.
The opposition activists say that the police used excessive force against the citizens, even among them there were provocateurs to cause violence.
After the violent protests where there were dozens of arrests, President Aleksander Vucic said that the state will react. According to him, the city of Belgrade is being destroyed because of "dirty political goals", underlining once again the fact of foreign interference.
"That's why I immediately came to the Presidency and entered the main entrance, just to show them that I'm not afraid of anything. No revolution is happening", said Vucic, who also called the National Security Council.
For more than 10 days, the Serbian opposition has been taking to the streets every night to protest against the results of the elections, which they consider manipulated by the ruling party.
