Russia declared it an 'undesirable organization', the first reaction comes from Amnesty International

Amnesty International pledges to redouble efforts to expose Russia's serious human rights violations in the face of the ban.
Amnesty International says the ban imposed by Russia was an attempt to silence dissidents, adding that the organization will redouble efforts to expose human rights violations by Moscow.
This morning, Russia's Prosecutor General's office said Amnesty had been labeled an "undesirable organization," making sharing their reports punishable by imprisonment.
"This decision is part of a broader effort by the Russian government to silence dissent and isolate civil society," said Agnes Callamard, Secretary General of Amnesty International.
"We will redouble our efforts to expose Russia's gross human rights violations both at home and abroad," she said, according to A2 CNN.
Amnesty is by no means the first organization to fall prey to Russian censorship, with the state's list of "undesirable organizations" covering 223 entities.
These include the US-funded broadcaster, RFE/RL, and the international environmental organization Greenpeace.
