American Secretary of State, Blinken: The NATO alliance is united
The American Secretary of State, Antony Blinken, said that at the meeting of NATO Foreign Ministers that was held yesterday and today in Brussels, it was also discussed how to help the Western Balkans for a Euro-Atlantic future.
"The NATO alliance is united," Blinken wrote in X, adding that they talked about many topics. "We talked about many topics on the ground during the meeting of foreign ministers - from our expectations at the Washington Summit next year, to ways we can deepen our partnership with Ukraine, to how we can help support the Euro-Atlantic future of the Western Balkans".
In the meeting that started on Tuesday, the NATO Foreign Ministers also had the Western Balkans on the agenda, and Kosovo and Bosnia in particular due to the increased tensions. The Secretary General of NATO, Jens Stoltenberg, told reporters yesterday that the Alliance will do whatever is necessary to ensure stability in this region, saying that the peace of the Western Balkans is important for all of Europe and NATO itself.
