US increases pressure on Vladimir Putin to accept 30-day ceasefire in Ukraine!

US President Donald Trump's top diplomat, Marco Rubio, has urged Vladimir Putin to agree to a 30-day ceasefire in Ukraine.
A day after the US-Ukraine agreement on a 30-day ceasefire, the Kremlin said it was studying the proposal, but stressed that it would not agree to anything until it heard the full point of view from the US.
US Secretary of State Marco Rubio today provided further details about talks between US and Ukrainian officials in Saudi Arabia, revealing that 'territorial concessions under any peace agreement' were discussed.
He said the US hopes to get a positive response to the ceasefire from Russia, adding that he would ask Vladimir Putin to end hostilities "so that people stop dying, and the bullets stop flying."
The US will have contacts with Russia today, but does not yet know what Moscow's reaction is to the proposed ceasefire, Rubio says.
“If [Russia] says no, it will tell us a lot about their intentions and what their mindset is,” he said.
He further added that "this conflict has no military solution. Neither side can achieve its goals militarily."
"We're looking at ensuring the long-term security of Ukraine — what's the point of spending all this time trying to reach a ceasefire and a negotiated end to the war only to see it flare up again six years later, four years later, three years later? We're not interested in that ," Rubio said.
