Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky are sons of the devil and Hitler, declared Nicaraguan leader Daniel Ortega.

Ortega made the comments Monday at an event honoring the country's police force. "The Israeli government is led by a prime minister who is the son of the devil. Why? Because he is following a policy of terror and he is Hitler," he said. He further added that "the prime minister of Israel is Hitler, just as the president of Ukraine is another Nazi, another son of Hitler, who wants to include NATO to go to war against the Russian Federation."

Ortega has been in power since 2007 and is widely considered a dictator. He has imprisoned political opponents and attempted to take control of state institutions. Nicaragua has had close ties to Moscow since the Cold War era, during which the Soviet Union supported the overthrow of the country's regime in 1979 by leftist rebels led by Ortega.
