Scandal in Monaco: Princess Charlene employed illegal immigrants for ridiculous
The Principality of Monaco has been shocked by news that Princess Charlene has employed illegal immigrants for less than £90 a day (a very low wage for the cost of living in Monaco), while her personal expenses allowance has risen to more than 1 million pounds a year.

The claims were made by Prince Albert's former accountant, Claude Palmero, who was in charge of the palace's finances for more than two decades but resigned in July after being targeted by a corruption scandal website.

His "secret notebooks" detailing the spending of Monaco's royal family have now been shared with French newspaper Le Monde and it has emerged that Palmero was particularly concerned about "illegal immigrants" employed by the princess.

According to Le Monde, which had access to the notebooks of the principality's former finance manager, Claude Palmero, it contained references to secret payments from the prince.

Albert appears to be very generous, especially with the women in his life. As did his wife, Princess Charlene, but also his ex-mistress, who continued to benefit from his generosity, as well as the two children he had out of wedlock before he met Charlene, who appeared to be unaware of these payments, according to the French newspaper.

The revelations are deeply damaging to Albert, as they paint him as a weak monarch who is being 'dragged' by the women in his life, including his two sisters, Princess Stephanie, 58, and Princess Caroline, 67.

? It should be noted that Palmero was fired by Alberto for financial irregularities related to the palace that were published on Les Dossiers du Rocher, an anonymously created website.

Albert initially ignored the allegations, but responded when they reached French television. The prince fired Laurent Anselmi, his chief of staff, and publicly distanced himself from Thierry Lacoste, his lawyer and childhood friend. The royal family then said it had filed a lawsuit after an audit revealed irregularities in the palace's accounts. Palmero has taken legal action of her own, claiming unfair dismissal and claiming to be the victim of harassment.
