Colorado is shaken! Egyptian throws Molotov cocktail into crowd protesting Israeli hostages in Gaza, 8 injured

At least eight people were injured, including an 88-year-old Holocaust survivor, after a violent attack at a peaceful event in Boulder, Colorado. The incident occurred at 1:26 p.m. local time on Sunday during a march called Run for Their Lives, which aims to raise awareness for Israeli hostages in Gaza.
According to police, the attacker – Mohamed Sabry Soliman, a 45-year-old Egyptian national – used an “improvised flamethrower” and Molotov cocktails to attack the crowd. He allegedly shouted “Free Palestine” during the attack. Federal authorities are investigating the incident as a deliberate and ideologically motivated act of terrorism.
Eight injured people – four men and four women, ages 52 to 88 – were taken to area hospitals with burns and other injuries, and at least one is in critical condition. Among the injured is a Jewish rabbi, director of Chabad at the University of Colorado, who confirmed that one of the injured is a Holocaust survivor and described him as “a very loving man.”
Local authorities and the FBI say there is no evidence that Soliman had accomplices and are “highly confident” that he acted alone. The attack occurred on the eve of the Jewish holiday of Shavuot, adding to concerns about security in Jewish communities in the US.
Boulder Mayor Aaron Brockett said he was "shocked and angry" by the attack and added that his city would stand united in the face of hate.
Meanwhile, the ADL (Anti-Defamation League) described the event as a serious attack on the Jewish community and called for an end to hate speech. The FBI has launched an operation in El Paso County, Colorado, as part of the investigation into this attack, treating it as a matter of national security.
Boulder police have increased security measures for Jewish events planned over the coming days and have asked citizens to report any suspicious activity. /BBC/
