Zelensky confirms presence in Turkey: It would be good if Trump was there too

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky confirmed that he would attend talks in Turkey on Thursday and added that he hoped that “the Russians” and Donald Trump would also be there. This was announced by Zelensky himself on his Telegram channel.
"I supported President Trump in the idea of direct talks with Putin. I openly expressed my willingness to meet with him. I will be in Turkey. I hope that the Russians will not hesitate to participate in the meeting.
"And of course, all of us in Ukraine would appreciate it if President Trump could be present at this meeting in Turkey. This is the right idea," he wrote.
Russian President Vladimir Putin has proposed direct talks with Ukraine on May 15 in Istanbul, relying on a draft 2022 agreement that includes Ukraine's neutrality and international security guarantees.
The Kremlin wants the agreement to reflect current territorial realities, with Russia controlling about 20% of Ukrainian territory.
