Edi Rama urgently convened the Socialist Party parliamentary group this Thursday morning, shortly before the start of the plenary session, where the focus of discussions is administrative-territorial reform.
The Socialists are expected to vote today on the draft law that envisages the reduction of the number of municipalities from 61 to 46, but 84 votes are needed in the Assembly for its approval.
The draft has also encountered opposition within the socialist group, where MPs Erion Braçe and Vullnet Sinaj have expressed reservations about the reform and voted against it in the previous group meeting.
At today's meeting of the SP parliamentary group, Edi Rama is expected to give the final order regarding the vote on territorial reform.
