Molotov cocktails and tear gas at the Parliament, ambulance arrives

The protest outside the Parliament became tense this Thursday, as protesters clashed with police forces who surrounded the Parliament building.

Protesters attempted to break the police cordon to get closer to the Parliament, while police used tear gas to repel them.

Pyrotechnic devices were also thrown on the ground, while the situation was accompanied by clashes between protesters and officers. The police had previously taken increased security measures, placing metal fences, numerous forces and motorcades near the Parliament.

Meanwhile, according to media reports, an ambulance has also arrived at the protest area, as some of the protesters were injured and transported to the hospital for medical assistance.

The protest is taking place while a plenary session is taking place inside the Parliament, where the agenda is the administrative-territorial reform that foresees the reduction of the number of municipalities from 61 to 46. The opposition opposes the reform and has announced protests inside and outside the Parliament.
