Low applications for priority branches, young people seek IT, engineering and medicine
Young Albanians like to become IT specialists, engineers and doctors. Arjan Xhelaj from the Albanian academic network, says that at the end of the university applications from 19713 students, 27% or in other words 5323 students have applied to specialize in IT, engineering and technology.
"The greatest interest has been in engineering, technology and IT branches. all three of these groups have about 27%. IT alone has 14% applications. Followed by medical sciences which are around 21.6%. In third place are the classical branches, economic which moves a little more than 16% together with legal 20%".
The 2-year programs have also had a high interest this year.
"The 2-year programs have also had good progress, they are over 10% this year".
While the priority branches announced by the government and benefiting from financial support still remain at low levels, although with a very slight increase compared to a year ago./Tv Klan
