Pisa "promotes" Education in Albania, experts highlight the problems

The PISA 2022 report on the level of education in Albania has raised discussions about the problems and possible solutions in the teaching process. Professor Nora Malaj and education expert Irida Sina were invited to Euronews Weekend to talk about this issue.
According to the expert, the question mark of every student today is the importance of the theories and knowledge obtained at school, where the teacher must explain the situation and the need of the market. A big problem for him are the teachers' diaries, which he sees rather as a waste of time. But he also added that students continue to learn by heart.
"Do I really need the diary? Does the teacher have to lose 2-3 hours of time, which does not happen because he usually takes it ready. No! Let's give the teacher this time to reflect. How should I teach? How can I encourage learning autonomy in this student?" she said.
Meanwhile, for Malay, the impasse in IT format methods and E-learning was created during the period of the Covid-19 pandemic, where learning through technological platforms was not effective. This is problematic, which was also mentioned in the PISA report.
"At the moment when the pandemic created this anticap, it was realized that the radar of the school and the university had fallen. At the same time, the teachers were unprepared, because in every cycle of the change process, they are always used as models. And we have turned them into characters that we model, without doing a synthetic analysis." Malay said.
