Police officers from the Northern Greece Organized Crime Sub-Directorate have solved a case of attempted murder with a firearm, an event that occurred in January 2025 in an area of Thessaloniki.
3 Albanian citizens were arrested in the early hours of Wednesday morning, based on relevant arrest warrants, in an area of Thessaloniki, as part of a coordinated police operation by the Department for the Prosecution of Crimes against Life and Property and the Department of Intelligence and Special Operations of the Greek Police.
We are talking about Robert Elezaj, 33 years old, Sergo Elezaj, 31 years old, and Rueldi Dragjoshi, 26 years old, accused of attempted murder of 32-year-old Danjel Dushku, who has also been declared a wanted person.
The incident for which the first 3 are accused occurred during the evening hours between January 8 and 9, 2025, when they approached and attacked 32-year-old Danjel Dushku in an area of Thessaloniki.
Specifically, 33-year-old Robert Elezaj, using a pistol, shot 32-year-old Dushku, without injuring him. However, the shooting injured a person who was near Dushku, while damage was also caused to a shop in the area.
At the same time, 26-year-old Rueldi Dragjoshi also opened fire with a pistol on Dushku, but without injuring him. Regarding the role of 31-year-old Sergo Elezaj, according to the police, it turned out that he pointed a gun at 32-year-old Dushku, without it being possible to verify whether he had fired or not, while offering assistance to two other arrested persons, both before and during the commission of the criminal offenses.
Specifically, he transported them to the scene in a rented car, while remaining at the scene with them until they left together.
For his part, 32-year-old Danjel Duahku, using a firearm, shot at the arrested persons, without injuring them, while causing damage to the vehicle in which they had arrived at the scene, as well as to another parked car.
During the operation to arrest the perpetrators, 31-year-old Sergo Elezaj tried to escape, disobeying the orders of police officers. He went out onto the balcony of his house, went to the roof of a neighboring house, where he stayed until he was located and detained by the police.
During the search of the above-mentioned apartment, a pistol with a magazine, 7 cartridges, and 2 forged identity cards were found and seized. At the same time, it was discovered that the 31-year-old was missing the required legal documents. He was also a wanted person as he was awaiting a sentence for illegal possession of weapons.
Regarding 33-year-old Robert Elezaj, it was revealed that he was wanted, as he had a pending conviction for facilitating the transportation of third-country nationals who were not entitled to enter the country and that he lacked legal documents.
26-year-old Rueldi Dragjoshi was previously sentenced to 15 months in prison in France in 2021 for trafficking heroin and cocaine.
According to Greek police, the three arrested people also have precedents in Greece, having been accused in the past of theft, illegal trafficking of migrants, grievous bodily harm, as well as violations of drug and weapons laws.
32-year-old Danjel Dushku, with criminal records in Greece and Albania, turns out to be the brother of Fabio Dushku, an Albanian citizen convicted in Greece for murder and other criminal offenses.
