Kosovo Police officer found dead in Morina cemetery, 35-year-old suspected of shooting himself

A Kosovo Police officer was found dead this Wednesday morning in the cemetery of the village of Morinë, in Kukës.
According to the State Police, the victim is citizen Sh. H., 35 years old, resident of Prizren and employee of the Rapid Reaction Unit of the Kosovo Police.
Initial investigations suggest that the 35-year-old man committed suicide with a pistol. The weapon has been seized as evidence.

On 22.07.2026, at around 08:25, citizen Sh. H., 35 years old, resident of Prizren, police officer in the Rapid Reaction Unit in Prizren, was found without signs of life in the cemetery of the village of Morinë.
Preliminary investigative actions indicate that the 35-year-old committed suicide with a pistol, which was seized as material evidence.
A special investigative group, under the direction of the Prosecutor's Office, is continuing its actions to fully clarify the circumstances of the incident.
Meanwhile, the State Police is cooperating with the Kosovo Police to verify whether the seized firearm is the 35-year-old's service weapon, as well as to provide any information that will serve the complete legal documentation of the case.
