The revenues of the 10 main television stations in the country reached about 6.8 billion lek in 2025, or about 70 million euros.
Compared to a year ago, revenues increased slightly by 3%, after a 0.5% decline in 2024, but far from the double-digit expansion rates of 14% in 2023.
The data was processed by "Monitor", based on the companies' balance sheets, submitted to the National Business Center. The operators' revenues come mostly from advertising, or from broadcasting signals.
The two largest television networks "TV Klan" and "Top Channel" continue to significantly dominate the screen scene, both together taking 63% of the market in 2025.
Of the 9 television stations that have reported their 2025 balance sheets, only two of them have recorded a decline in revenue, while the others have managed to grow slightly at single-digit rates.
Although they may have an impact through their audience, television, especially news channels, are not a profitable business, with the exception of the two largest ones. In 2025, the financial result of 9 television stations was only 550 million lek (less than 6 million euros), while four of them were loss-making.
Excluding loss-making television stations, profits were 836 million lekë, with 87% of which belonging to “Klan” and “Top Channel”. Compared to 2024, most television stations improved their profits, which still remain very low in relation to the capital employed and revenues.
For years, the market has been in a slump, as the economic crisis and the lack of new companies entering the country are affecting advertising budgets and consequently television revenues.
Another impact has come from the development of digital platforms, where advertisers are spending more budget to reach more targeted audiences. The television business seems to be facing significant competition from the shift of advertising to social networks and direct marketing through influencers.
Earlier, the tax authorities announced that they had launched an investigation into 100 individuals/entities for income earned from social platforms. These are the platforms Facebook; TikTok; YouTube; Instagram; Google; PayPal. The tax authorities announced that preliminary verifications suspect that around 33 million euros are undeclared.
This amount is 47% of the revenue that the 10 television stations generated in 2024, with the main source being business advertising.
The lack of audience measurement is also a problem. “Although there is currently a lack of official published data on total advertising investment in various media, it is still easily discernible that the television media market absorbs the majority of this investment.

"Scan" television, with a focus on economic news , recorded a strong increase in revenue, by 46%, to 174 million lekë, while moving from losses to minimal profit.
"MCN TV" (Johaniteri) had a year of declining revenues, after strong growth in 2024. In 2025, annual turnover was 72 million lek, a contraction of about 33%, while it continues to declare losses, which amounted to 49 million lek.
“Syri TV” has not declared a balance sheet since 2023, when its income was 13 million lekë. Three other television stations are practically bankrupt, although they continue to broadcast: FAX NEWS (Fax Media News); TV ORA (“Ora” sh.a); ORA NEWS/
