Edi Rama chose to welcome the protests within the Socialists in the municipalities that are on the list to merge with larger municipalities, appearing as the leader of a party that expects different opinions, even with protests. In fact, Rama's entire speech was nervous, as he knows well that the addition of protest voices with other Socialists, after those who come out with the "Flamingos" on the Boulevard, is a sign that his myth as "the only man who leads the PS" is falling.
And in this courage that is generating several protests and names of MPs within his majority who oppose him, he feels that not even Berisha's insistence on seizing the protest on the Boulevard with his claws, or on keeping the DP in the terrible pool of lack of reactions, will be able to protect him.
But Rama already knows that what he has started in the municipalities does not have its strength in the people he brings out, but in the fact that it has made Rama attackable by everyone, even by those who until yesterday would "kill" for him.
His conviction that Berisha will save him from his own people is more a sign of a failure that he has lost all political compass, as he has long allowed himself to be lied to by some businessmen-media executives, by some "ergy sagas", who comb his political tail, making Rama today the complete opposite of the one who came to power in 2013, while declaring a government based on law and accountability.
Unfortunately, he was such a political wretch in his response that he lied to the residents of the municipalities that "have been given a visa", declaring that a consultation process will be initiated. But even the person in the most remote village knows that, if you have announced the decision, consultations are useless talk, without blessings.
And the paradox is that, in this reform process, he may be right, since those municipalities have been depopulated. But at the same time, he and his government are responsible for having only had an interest in votes and not in development towards these municipalities. Now that they are losing their jobs and benefits, it is clear that in these municipalities, and in many others, the government only has the problem of the electoral "bag", but not of their lives, since Rama sees the municipalities more as continuations of party sections and not as entities that can manage and develop communities.
However, they have finally come out. The intention matters little. What has been marked by the "socialist protests" is the final decline of his political image, turning it into a farce, with the only immovable asset he has being Berisha, who does everything he needs to keep the socialists on the same side.
Rama will not be able to recover after the Boulevard protests and the anger of the socialists. He is as fixed as Berisha after the events of January 21, 2011, who with his ridiculous commissions and explanations ruined the DP.
So no explanation he gives is valid anymore, but he simply turns it into a joke, highlighting it with the scandals that don't stop, with Balluk, Karçanaj, or with every field where SPAK starts investigating. Berisha is no longer enough for the mother!/ Alfapress.al
