The gesture that revealed the pettiness of a banal prime minister

Prime Minister Rama has kept a photo with President Trump under wraps, releasing it only a few days after returning from the US. It would be more honest to say that the White House press office brought it to him today, rather than keeping it, like those children who try to sell their minds to their rivals in class. An action that shows a lack of seriousness, a smallness of communication.

Most likely, this snobbery, which insists on being internationally recognized, more shows that he is under pressure. First, a protocol photo in the corridors of the UN does not mean anything great. What means a step may be a visit to the White House, or the signing of a special partnership, and not entering through the door of favors through the daughter and son-in-law.

However, the childish use of an official photo as a form of revenge or bullying against opponents, demanding verification of the photo, essentially shows the banality into which Rama has plunged the entire functioning of the state. No normal prime minister in the world would reduce communication by using a protocol meeting as a way to tease and harass opponents, even though the opposition's attacks may have been for a peripheral appearance at the UN.

This picture seems even funnier when in every communication with the public Rama appears boasting about supporting the Justice Reform, while in the "Balluku" case he was not so supportive and proud, because he used his majority in the Parliament to reject the facts of SPAK.

Prime Minister Rama is among the rare few who openly claims that the leader elected to lead a majority does not bear political responsibility for those he chooses to lead, thereby undermining two of the most important pillars in democracy - responsibility and accountability.

However, Rama's mockery, although very banal for a government leader, of his opponents may stem from the certainty that the opposition leader continues to exist in no partnership plan, not even as an invitee to meetings in embassy courtyards. /Alfapress.al
