Fierza Lake nears critical levels, water level drops to 266.95 meters

The water level in Lake Fierza continues to decrease, reaching 266.95 meters above sea level. The decline in water reserves is increasing concerns about the production of electricity at the Fierza HPP.
For the Fierza hydroelectric power plant, the 240–242 meters above sea level is considered the critical level, also known as the "death point", where the use of the water reserve for energy production becomes very limited.
Currently, the Fierza HPP produces around 140 MW, while only two of the hydropower plant's four aggregates are in operation.
The decline in water levels is mainly related to the lack of rainfall during the summer months and the use of water reserves for electricity production.
From a maximum level of about 296 meters, Lake Fierza has dropped to 266.95 meters, losing about 29 meters from its maximum level.
