34 years ago, Albanians began to see light at the end of the tunnel

Today marks 34 years since the day when Albanians began to see light at the end of the tunnel, when in Tirana those who dared succeeded in toppling the statue of the dictator, who held hostage the dreams of several generations, the future of Albania and Albanians, isolating them from the world, from the West, in an illusion where he declared as an enemy anyone who raised his voice or was against the crazy ideas of a megalomaniac, delusional and incompetent man, as the dictator himself was.
After a long ordeal of suffering, it was time for decommunization to happen, it was time for those who served and collaborated in that regime to convict, shoot and exile, to be behind the iron bars.
But not only did this not happen, but some of them, through a pseudo catharsis, camouflaged themselves as right-wingers, sidelining the true anti-communists, the former persecuted, the owners, the true pillar of democracy.
So today, most of those who were there to throw down the curtain, to overthrow the regime, have left this country, because it was precisely the politicians who sold the transition as democracy, who broke their hope, and blocked their path to building a future for themselves and their children.
Communism did not go away with the fall of the bust, nor did it go away by changing jackets, but it is considered fallen when justice is restored and impunity ends.
