The problem is why he has to lie and say he's going to the CDU election congress. You don't go to a congress like that with your wife and son. He's not in a good enough health to need his wife as a caregiver or his son to hold him by the arm. It's clear they're going for their own family matters.
But since they have become accustomed to using the party for every family problem, they have to justify even family weekends with party work.
The CDU electoral congress is not important even for the CDU itself, let alone for Berisha. The electoral lists are simply announced there and the program is read. There is no reason for Berisha to travel from Albania to participate, especially since they have revoked his visa in time and have isolated him politically.
An announcement on the official CDU website clearly states that anyone who wishes to attend the 37th CDU Congress in Germany can simply register by sending an email to [email protected] .

This announcement confirms that participation in the Congress is not limited and there is no exclusive invitation for certain politicians, but is a standard procedure open to all interested parties.
His attempt to make it seem as if now, after Trump's victory, even the Germans have changed their stance and want to accept him again makes the situation even more ridiculous.
Thanks to Germany and German justice, SPAK learned that the Berishas were buying houses in Rotterdam, Germany and Belgium. In Hungary, they bought a villa, thinking they could seek political asylum, since Hungary accepts those accused of corruption.
If it weren't for that German document asking Berisha's niece to justify the money for the apartment she was buying, perhaps SPAK would never have gotten on the trail of their villas across Europe.

Of course, only Berisha can say these things about others, although in his case they are not far from the truth.
They have the villas, they have the millions, they have the reasons to do tourism in Europe.
The thing is, why did they buy him an invitation to be a listener at the CDU Congress? Because to get there he has to go alone, without the care of his wife and son. And his whole weekend in Germany could be ruined if they tell him: "There's no room, stay in the standing audience," or if something happens to his health.
Because when you go to an electoral Congress as a guest, you also bring a party official, for example the Secretary of International Relations. It's not just the "Director of the Family Treasury" (the son) and his wife.
You go with your wife and son to a wedding or a condolence meeting, but not to the CDU electoral congress. Especially there, where they have even excluded the "political father" of their party, and no longer expect a tribe from Tropoja as important guests.
