Ranked as the 4th most-watched English film of all time/ "Adolescence" leaves behind the most-watched titles on Netflix with over 115 million views

The UK miniseries "Adolescence" is recording a stellar showing on Netflix, surpassing the platform's top titles in viewership, such as "Brigerton," "The Queen's Gambit," "Fool Me Once" and the first season of "The Night Agent." According to official Netflix data, the series climbed from 9th to 4th place last week on the list of the most popular English-language series of all time.
The series has already racked up over 114 million views, 17.8 million of which were in the last week alone, making it the top choice for subscribers once again. It even surpassed the recent premieres of "Gone Girls; The Long Island Serial Killer" and the medical drama "Pulse."
An additional factor that will further increase the series' momentum is its showing to high school students in schools in the United Kingdom, which is gradually contributing to Netflix 's internal data overturning .
The story follows a 13-year-old boy who finds himself at the center of a shocking murder case. As the drama unfolds, the viewer experiences the story in real time, thanks to the use of continuous single shots that create incredible tension. Both the realistic depiction of the story and the technical perfection of the single shots seem to have thrilled television audiences.
The series stars Owen Cooper, who plays Jamie Miller, while Stephen Graham is his father (Eddie).
