The hearing in The Hague against Thaçi and others continues today

Even today, the trial of former KLA leaders Hashim Thaçi, Kadri Veseli, Jakup Krasniqi and Rexhep Selimi continues at the Kosovo Specialist Chambers in The Hague.

According to the DSK, the session began at 09:00, and is expected to continue until the afternoon, at 16:30.

According to the indictment, the former KLA leaders are suspected of criminal offenses related to war crimes: unlawful or arbitrary detention, cruel treatment, torture and unlawful killings, and crimes against humanity: imprisonment, other inhumane acts, enforced disappearances of persons and persecutions, which, according to the Specialist Chambers, were committed between March 1998 and September 1999.

The crimes are alleged to have been committed in several locations in Kosovo and northern Albania, namely in Kukës and Cahan.

The Specialist Chambers and the Specialist Prosecutor's Office, also known as the Special Court, investigate alleged crimes committed by members of the Kosovo Liberation Army against ethnic minorities and political rivals from January 1998 to December 2000.

These alleged crimes are mentioned in a 2011 Council of Europe report, authored by Swiss senator Dick Marty.
