The delegated Mayor of Tirana Municipality, Anuela Ristani, today denied the President of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, regarding his statements that the Tirana Municipality administration is burning files.
Ristani said that the news spread maliciously is not true.
She added that, " we have not been afraid of anonymous letters, nor of those with authors, nor will we be afraid of such denunciations, for no other reason than the work that has honored us and keeps our heads high and our eyes on every citizen of this city that will not stop."
The malicious news spread yesterday that the Municipality of Tirana is destroying evidence and documents is untrue. We in the Municipality of Tirana are no longer surprised by anything, by anyone, who accuses us without evidence, without facts, for no reason other than political interests. From the toy corner at the lake where we were accused of building towers, among other things, to the relocation of the “Sami Frashëri” School that left us all speechless, we have seen and heard all kinds of wonders, so many and so often that the answer has been only one: Let's continue the work!
But never, under any circumstances, do we forget that we owe citizens the appropriate clarifications when the levels of slander and shocking and completely false news spread by media channels reach such levels of pollution.
The Municipality of Tirana is accused of burning and disappearing trucks with documents in broad daylight in front of a woman hired by the Democratic Party to station herself on the sidewalk in front of the municipality and in the presence of TV Syri, the same party's TV station.
Of course, this is a level of stupidity worthy of a soap opera, where there is no lack of action or satire, but there is also no lack of sadness, and the latter is for those citizens who have not shied away from being poisoned by fiction, different from those who are fed daily by slander and lies, but never satisfied. We feel deeply sorry for both categories.
But in any case, the Municipality of Tirana assures the public opinion with full responsibility that every document of its institutional life is preserved with the greatest rigor in our archive, which, in compliance with the relevant laws, is located in a facility outside the central building and meets the conditions of preservation and security according to a well-defined protocol.
In response to the threats of the next denunciation for this new imaginary crime, we say to all opponents and political and media persecutors of the Municipality of Tirana that you are more than welcome to become ridiculous. And we do not tolerate such imaginary problems, because in a city with 1 million inhabitants, and millions more visitors, the problems we face every day and the troubles to be solved are not at all funny and we take them with all possible seriousness.
