Former DP MP Myslim Murrizi claims that a meeting took place in Durrës between a US Navy general on September 10th with two ministers in the government at the time, Pirro Vengu and Elisa Spiropali.

Murrizi stated that the American general gave a message to Prime Minister Rama regarding the construction of Porto Romano.

According to him, the US military has demanded that this important NATO port cannot be given to Russia.

"According to the information I have, on September 10, a major naval general arrived by frigate from the Baltic Sea and invited Minister Pirro Vengu, and two witnesses, Maznik and Spiropali, to a luncheon.

"And that's why it was removed. The message was: tell that man that he can't pass under our noses, he can't give the NATO port to Russia," he said in a television interview.

.Then, the former MP emphasized in his speech that this meeting is the reason why Elisa Spiropali left the position of Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs.

"Ask Rama or Spiropali if that's the case or not. Spiropali was fired on September 10, which means she was at the wrong lunch. She has been silent so far, but maybe later she can tell what was discussed ," Murrizi said.
