The Special Court of Appeal is holding a hearing on the appeal of Tirana Mayor Erion Veliaj, regarding the security measure of imprisonment.
Journalist Klodiana Lala has revealed that in new evidence presented yesterday by special prosecutors, "in conversations with family members and other people in detention, Veliaj has organized orchestrated attacks on justice officials."
For this reason, according to them, it poses a risk, but there are strong suspicions that it could influence witnesses and destroy evidence.
In the wake of the new evidence, according to sources within the hearing, Lala states that 'contracts, invoices and banking transactions have also been presented that are mainly related to companies contracted directly or indirectly by Ajola Xoxa'.
According to journalist Lala, "the evidence presented yesterday at the hearing is conversations recorded in detention between Veliaj and his family members."
Lawyers have objected to new evidence presented yesterday by special prosecutors.
