Exclusive/ Scandal at the Albanian embassy in Berlin, this is the Russian

The Albanian embassy in Berlin has been embroiled in one of the biggest corruption and diplomatic scandals.
The prosecution has seized the recordings from the cameras at the Albanian embassy in Berlin. Currently, the server is located in the office of police officer Ismen Muçmata.
The judicial police are verifying two months of recordings at the embassy and the movements of the Albanian ambassador with her Russian advisor. The German federal police have been informed about the criminal acts being committed at the Albanian embassy in Berlin.

Sources from the Tirana Prosecutor's Office confirmed that on 08.08.2025, criminal proceedings were registered with "protocol number 6025" against Ambassador Adia Sakiqi and Russian citizen Walter Borisovich. Our editorial team has provided photos of Russian advisor Walter Borisovich.

At the Albanian embassy in Germany, it is learned that the Prosecutor's Office is investigating three criminal offenses: "Abuse of office" - Article 248, "Forgery of official documents" - Article 186, and "Abuse of state title or office" - Article 245.
The investigation began with a denunciation made by two diplomats, who maintain confidential identities, as well as by important officials of the German state.
Surprisingly, out of 69 prosecutors, the file is being investigated by prosecutor Bledar Valnikaj, husband of former Deputy Speaker of Parliament Ermonela Felaj.

Two months ago, SPAK prosecutor Adnan Xholi sent a written request to the Tirana Prosecutor's Office for urgent investigation of the case. The prosecutors in the case, after being familiar with the reports of several individuals and the relevant facts, conducted preliminary investigations by questioning several witnesses and some of the embassy staff. As revenge and pressure, the ambassador influenced the dismissal of two diplomats who had evidence against her.

Ambassador Aida Sakiqi's abuses have been denounced by several officials of the diplomatic mission. These include several classified and falsified documents, as well as abuses in the management of embassy funds. Prosecutors have found abuses not only with finances, documents, tenders and funds, but also in the appointment of personnel.

During the investigation, it was found that national security rules were violated in the appointment of staff, by employing people with Russian, Bulgarian and Dutch citizenship.
The Russian citizen is called Walter Borisovich, while the Bulgarian citizen is Biljana Naumov.
The intervention of the SHISH and the German secret service was required for the urgent removal of the Russian citizen Walter Borisovich, appointed by the Albanian ambassador. The presence of the Russian diplomat was noticed by foreign services when he was waiting for Prime Minister Edi Rama, together with the embassy staff, at the Berlin airport.

Sources from the Albanian embassy in Berlin confirm that the German federal police are conducting verifications for violations and abuses at the embassy. This diplomatic scandal comes at a time when relations between Germany and Albania are more tense than ever. Prime Minister Rama dismissed the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Elisa Spiropali, because she sided with her German colleague in issuing the arrest warrant for Belinda Ballku. Meanwhile, the appointment of Ambassador Aida Sakiqi came after the dismissal of Ambassador Artur Kuko, caused by an incident with President Bajram Begaj./ Alfapress.al
