"Whoever wants to use this situation to incite protests, to inspire the failure of the protests, let them take it. Ms. Vokshi, if you feel offended, apologize," said Balla.

He also demanded action against MP Gazment Bardhi, who described the socialist as "a scoundrel", "unmanly" and "filth".

"This situation has nothing to do with anything I said because there is no connection whatsoever to any insult. It is about a telephone number that is used in the EU to obtain information on the European Union. Anyone who needs information on the EU has a number where you can obtain information about EU decision-making."
