The former socialist mayor of Kavaja, Elvis Rroshi, surprised quite a bit this Sunday by calling on voters in the Tirana District, especially those in the city of Kavaja, to vote for his cousin, Elton Rroshi, who is running for MP in the May 11 elections, under the banner of the "Alliance for a Greater Albania" led by the Democratic Party.
The former socialist mayor has posted on social media the campaign poster of Elton Rroshi, who is his uncle, but who is running as part of the opposing party to the one that supported Elvis to take over the leadership of the Kavajë Municipality.
The drafting of the lists by Sali Berisha greatly disappointed the Democrats, but above all it reflected a total disregard for the primaries, by not running for MPs even for those who received the most votes in the process.
Quite ironic to think that the candidate from Kavaja, Hysen Kadiu, the winner of the blue seat primaries, remained off the list.
Berisha justified the selection of Elton Rroshi as a candidate for MP, saying that the cousin is not guilty of what former local official Elvis Rroshi, who was excluded from politics through the decriminalization law, did.
"A cousin is not a sinner for a cousin. What is this candidate's name? Elton... With Elvis, being related by blood is another thing, but there is no connection, this is not a criterion for candidates. Even Edi Rama has two cousins, one of whom accuses us of property grabbing and the other he makes prefect to grab property", - Berisha expressed.
