Lawyer Alesia Balliu, who was expelled yesterday from the Democratic Party of Elbasan, stated that with this decision, Democratic leader Sali Berisha ranked her alongside Azem Hajdari (who was also expelled from the Democratic Party).

In the 'Studio Live' show with journalist Ermal Qori on Report TV, Balliu said that the expulsions from the DP are being made because Democratic Party leader Sali Berisha is afraid of the race.

"I have been elevated because Sali Berisha has privileged me by putting me on the side of the democrats, on the side of individuals who dare and fight, on the side of individuals who raise their voices. He has ranked me on the side of Azem Hajdari. So for me it is a privilege to be ranked on the side of Azem Hajdari. Where the exception was made because I dropped my candidacy for president of the DP. Berisha makes this decision because he is afraid of the competition and different opinions," said Balliu, among other things.

Balliu further added that Berisha is the main reason why the DP is in opposition today. She also said that senior DP exponents are linked to the government of Prime Minister Edi Rama.

"And he does not allow anyone who thinks differently from him to compete and for this party to have meritocracy. After all, he has transformed this party into a function of his personal and his close clientelistic circle. Sali Berisha is the main reason why the opposition is in opposition today and why the opposition is not coming to power today. Individuals from the DP are connected to the government and make deals and in the media pretend to attack the government. Berisha is using Enver Hoxha's methods to exclude any voice against. My line has been a line against Berisha, not against the DP. Berisha is against justice and internationals. Today, the greatest damage to Albania is being done only by Sali Berisha, by holding the opposition hostage and leaving the SP without opponents," Balliu added.
Balliu did not spare accusations against the DP's general secretary, Flamur Noka, who he said has a limited mental horizon. According to Balliu, Noka's role in the DP is that of Sali Berisha's donkey.

"When Flamur Noka appears at a press conference, even the microphones remain serious. Not out of respect, but out of fear of what stupid thing he will say. Because this person has a limited mental horizon. His role in the DP is the role of Sali Berisha's donkey, like Sancho Pancho's donkey. Today Noka does not represent the opposition," Balliu concluded.
