At the end of the first session of the European Political Community, Prime Minister Edi Rama, while joking with the European leaders participating in the roundtable, mentioned the Kanun and hospitality. Rama said that usually lunch is not free, but in Albania it is the opposite, as in any capacity, they will be welcomed.
"In our Kanun, written a long time ago, there is a chapter on hospitality.
It starts with a quote that says that the Albanian's home belongs to God and to the friend. And this sentence is truly profound. It is the origin of the fact that we finished, we reached the end of World War II as a country that at that moment had more Jews than at the beginning. They came as friends who were protected, that the Albanians protected with their lives.
