A week after the elections, Dashnor Sula calls on the Parliament to return to work: One side should stop celebrating, the other should continue mourning

Through a post on social media, Democratic MP Dashnor Sula called for the Parliament to convene as soon as possible.
Sula, who was left off the lists of parliamentary candidates for the May 11 elections, emphasizes that parliament has not convened since March 16, and must continue with the duties and rules set forth by the Constitution and the law.
Meanwhile, the MP also calls for a meeting of the Conference of Speakers to create an agenda for reports from constitutional institutions to the Assembly.
He made a special call to the parties that participated in the elections, for the SP to stop celebrating, while the DP to continue mourning and implement the Constitution by following and reviewing the annual reports of SPAK, KLSH, and the General Prosecutor's Office.
Joys and misfortunes should not serve as an argument for the state to slide into lawlessness. Parliament has not convened since March 16, a month and a half before the election date, although officially the campaign lasts only a month.
However, what has passed cannot be undone. What we have in our hands is to return to the path of legality. So, the Assembly and Parliament must return to work and continue with the duties that the Constitution, the Law and the regulations determine.
The Constitution stipulates that independent institutions report and are accountable to the Albanian Parliament. While the Rules of Procedure of the Assembly in Article 103, point 10, stipulates that the reporting of all constitutional and legally established institutions must complete their reporting to legislators no later than the end of June.
At a time when we have dozens of important constitutional or legally established institutions that will have to report to legislators, the Conference of Mayors should meet an hour earlier and set a clear and busy agenda for reporting to these institutions.
One side should stop the celebration and the other continue the mourning at the headquarters, and both sides should implement the Constitution, Organic Laws and the Rules of Procedure of the Assembly and convene the committees to review the annual report of the Bank of Albania, SPAK, the General Prosecutor's Office, the Supreme Audit Office and all other institutions defined in the Constitution.
