Project on Sazan Island, Trump's son-in-law reveals how he decided to invest in Albania: We studied for a year

Donald Trump's son-in-law, Jared Kushner, has revealed details of the project on Sazan Island, saying it will be one of the most unique things in the world.

He said that he was introduced to Albania by chance, while going to Corfu on a boat tour in the summer of 2021.

During his speech with a video message from the FII International Forum that took place in Tirana, Kushner also said that after visiting southern Albania, they studied the market and demographics for a year and concluded that it was the perfect environment for investment.

Kushner : I'm jealous that you're in Albania today, it's a beautiful country. I was on vacation when we left the government in the summer of 2021, we were on a friend's boat, before Corfu we spent a few days in Albania. One of the nights, Prime Minister Rama came to the boat. I hadn't met him when we were in government, but I was impressed with the vision of what he wanted to do for Albania.

I knew nothing about the country, I didn't even know the history of the dark past of communism that had left it completely underdeveloped as a state.

One of the things that attracted me was that he (Rama) is a very capable politician, a strong and smart leader, but also an artist. I was intrigued by this and before going to Corfu, we visited Butrint which was a spectacular site. The place had beautiful nature, but it seemed like it was a place that no one knew or understood. I thought about it for a year and a year later I started looking at investment opportunities in the Balkans and my partner said to me 'let's go to Albania, let's see what we can do'. The country is building an airport on the coast which they think is the most beautiful. So we went there and looked for opportunities to build something that will be unique in the world.

We spent a year studying the market, the demographics, is it a clean place, will the government do what it promises. The more we studied the market, the more we fell in love with what we were going to create and realized that the environment was perfect.
