At the press conference, Democratic Party leader Sali Berisha described yesterday's protest on "Martyrs of the Nation" Boulevard as a historic moment, describing it as the inauguration of the opposition's new mission to save Albania.

He thanked citizens for their massive participation, discipline, and restraint of anger towards the government, emphasizing that this is an ongoing battle for democracy, the family, and the future of the country.

Excerpt from the speech of the leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha:

First, I would like to express my deepest gratitude and greatest respect to all those citizens, young and old, of Tirana and all of Albania who filled the 'Martyrs of the Nation' boulevard yesterday in the most powerful peaceful protest ever remembered.

Who inaugurated yesterday with their presence the new mission of the Albanian opposition, the salvation of democracy, the salvation of the Albanian family, the salvation of Albania.

Each participant signed yesterday the contract with democracy, with the family, and with Albania to prevail until the complete and final victory over this regime.

I must thank them for containing their boundless anger and hatred towards this narco-government.

I understand that it was a particular struggle, but this is an ongoing battle.

This was an inauguration of extraordinary importance and the most powerful message for Edi Rama, his narco-government, this message was summed up in a single word: go away!

Go away!  There are no words that can express what I feel for those citizens who came, for the discipline they showed, for the dedication they showed.

But on the other hand, beyond all the efforts of Edi Rama's toxic propaganda machine, his vuvuzelas that the people do not rise up, that the people do not trust the opposition, that so and so, even when they did not say that the people love Eid Rama, there was someone who said this, they proved what the people's feelings are for Edi Rama, the boundless hatred, the boundless anger.

These two terms can summarize the feelings of citizens.

As we have stated before, this battle is a battle for freedom or death, for life or death, under the motto, let us die, let us live for freedom.

Every honest citizen of this country, every opposition member of this country, every honest socialist of this country, should be clear, and is clear, that with the latest developments and revelations, the fact that I, for example, Ergys Agas, not only in this hall, but also in the most prestigious halls of Europe, in the Council of Europe, in the European Parliament, in the EPP, in our resolutions, we have branded him as Edi Rama's coordinator for the darkest deeds.

So, every Albanian should be clear that we are dealing with a life or death confrontation for Albanian democracy.

Edi Rama will not lift Lubi Balluku's immunity because he is behind all the acts Lubi has committed.

He is willing and able to change every law and regulation, in order to remove everything from legal responsibility, and this would mark the death of the opposition and oppositionism.

This would mark its political annihilation.

Therefore, this battle is a matter of dying, of living for freedom.

And I guarantee Albanians that every time the opposition has adhered to this solemn anthem that has inspired Albanians at all times, it has won.

This was the anthem of the '90s.

But this was also from 1998.

With this anthem, we stood up because they wanted to exterminate us, and we won.

And this time we will win.

But every opposition member must repeat this motto to themselves dozens of times.

There is no more important motto than this.

The opposition cannot be extinguished.

The suppression of the opposition is the suppression of internal national sovereignty.

A criminal gang, implicated in the most serious acts, in hostage-taking, in disappearances, in whatever acts, can never ruthlessly control every data of Albanian citizens, in ruthlessly controlling transactions, it can never annihilate the internal sovereignty of a nation, annihilate the opposition.
