A decision was made to open the envelopes/CEC suspends the counting of votes received from Greece

A few minutes after State Election Commissioner Ilirjan Celibashi announced the decision to open the envelopes with votes received from Greece, the counting was halted.

It is learned that the reasons for the interruption are still unknown, but their counting will continue the next day at 8:30.

A little while ago, Celibashi made the decision to count the ballot envelopes received from the Albanian diaspora in Greece.

This decision was made after the process was blocked, at the request of the DP accepted by the CEC chairman and strong reactions from the majority that the law and the Electoral Code were being violated. Today (May 16), Celibashi announced the decision, accepting the request to continue the counting.

Meanwhile, the counting of all other votes received from the diaspora has been completed.
