Discussions on the role, profile and expected impact of the new US Ambassador to Tirana, Eric Wendt, have been the focus of the political show “Trialog”. Cracking down on organized crime and illegal trafficking.
Rigorous fulfillment of Albania's commitments in NATO structures.
Strong support for the new justice system
An essential part of the new ambassador's arrival is considered support for the new justice institutions, which are currently facing hot files of corruption and high-level crime. Wendt's arrival is seen as one more guarantee for the independence and efficiency of the Special Structure (SPAK).
Reflecting on this moment, Zogaj described the approaching confirmation of Wendt as extremely positive news for developments in the country:
"It's a good evening because the absence of the American ambassador has been felt in Albania for these 2 years, to provide even stronger support to SPAK and the justice system in general."
