Under tight security measures, the American Embassy held a welcoming reception for Ambassador Eric Wendt in a hotel in the former block.
Top Channel journalist Muhamed Veliu reports that around 130 people were invited, including the President of the Republic, Bajram Begaj.
Invited were not only politicians from both sides, but also other Albanian state officials, ministers, heads of justice bodies, including from other fields, along with those considered friends of the American Embassy in Tirana.
As he himself warned a few days ago, the leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, was not invited to this reception.
But in the waiting room, Gazment Bardhi, chairman of the DP parliamentary group, was filmed entering with his fellow MP Oerd Bylykbashi.
Taulant Balla, the leader of the socialist parliamentary group, was also invited and attended.
Also invited were the former Speaker of the Parliament, Elisa Spiropali, and Bledi Çuçin, chairman of the parliamentary committee on internal affairs and defense.
Following them was Foreign Minister Ferit Hoxha, who was one of the first officials to meet with Wendt, after arriving in Tirana a few days ago.
As the minutes pass, well-known figures from public institutions continue to arrive at the meeting. The latest to arrive are the Minister of Energy and Infrastructure, Enea Karakaçi, the Minister of Culture, Blendi Gonxhe, the Minister of Justice, Toni Gogu, and the Minister of Culture, Mirela Kumbaro.
There are also guests from religious communities, where the World Grandmaster of the Bektashi Order, Baba Mondi, arrived a few minutes ago.
