Today, at 11:00, the next session for the constitution of the Kosovo Assembly is expected to take place, a month after the interruption amid tensions after the leader of the LVV, Albin Kurti, asked for time to reach an agreement on the President.
The session has been called for 11:00 by the chairman Avni Dehari, while the agenda includes the election of the speaker and deputy speakers of the Assembly. The Vetëvendosje Movement is expected to re-nominate Albulena Haxhiu for speaker of the Assembly.
The Democratic Party of Kosovo is expected to nominate Vlora Çitaku for vice president, while the Democratic League of Kosovo, Kujtim Shala.
PDK and LDK have confirmed their participation in the session, although the constitutional deadline for constitution has expired more than 30 days ago. Meanwhile, the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo (AAK) has announced that it will boycott, arguing that they "do not want to legitimize the violation of the Constitution."
The continuation of the session comes after a political deadlock and exceeding the constitutional deadline for the constitution of the Assembly. The 30-day deadline expired on August 7, while the last session was held a day later. Since then, the Assembly has not convened to complete the constitution process.
