EURO "Switzerland 2025"/ Albania triumphs in "Air Albania", defeats Estonia 2-0

Girls' Albania got the first three points in the new qualifying edition, after winning in "Air Albania" against Estonia with the result 2-0.

The goals of this match were scored by Fortesa Berisha in the 31st minute of the first half and Kristina Maksuti at the end of the match (90+3).

Coach Armir Grima started the match against Estonia with this starting line-up: Viona Rexhepi (G), Luçije Gjini, Arbenita Curraj, Sara Maliqi, Armera Tukaj, Alma Hilaj, Ezmiralda Franja, Megi Doçi (C), Fortesa Berisha, Qendresa Krasniqi, Kristina Maksuti.

Albania dominated the meeting from the start of the match. The red and black girls had several good chances to score and initially unlocked the score with Fortesa Berisha, but the goal was canceled due to an irregular position.

A few minutes later, Albania found the net again, this time the goal was regular. Fortesa Berisha shot correctly from inside the area and scored the first goal of the match. Even at the end of the first half, Albania appeared dangerous in the opponent's goal, but without success. The first half ended 1-0.

The second half of the match started well again for Albania. The red and black girls went on the attack to find the second goal. In the 53rd minute, coach Grima made the first substitution. Arbenita Curraj left the game and Gresa Berisha was activated.

Albania had a golden opportunity to double the score in the 77th minute of the match with Fortesa Berisha, but the shot went wide.

At the end of the match, Albania also scored the second goal. Fortesa Berisha correctly assisted for Kristina Maksuti, who sealed the spectacular victory in "Air Albania".

This was Albania's second qualifying match for the girls, who are ranked second with three points, the same as first-place Luxembourg.

At the end of the month of May, on the 31st, Albania will play the next qualifying match against Estonia. The last qualifying match will take place on June 4 at the "Air Albania" stadium. Albania will face Luxembourg.
