The Executive Committee of the AFL meets, an important change in the Albanian championship

The Executive Committee of the AFL met today to examine a series of proposals regarding championship regulations, investments in sports infrastructure or the VAR system.

EC members approved the proposal for changes in the Regulation of the Activity of the Superior Category & the First Category as well as the Second Category.

More specifically, according to this decision, starting from January 2025 (with the opening of the next football market) the clubs of the category "Abyssnet Superiore" and the First Category will have the right to simultaneously activate 7 foreign players on the field of play during matches.

Meanwhile, starting from the 2025-2026 season, the "Abyssnet Superiore" category clubs can activate foreign players without limit, while for the First Category clubs, the rule with 7 foreign players on the field at the same time remains in force.

As for the Second Category, EC decided to remove the restriction on the number of players coming from outside the region.

The Executive Committee has also approved the ticket prices for the next two matches of the National Team against the Czech Republic and Ukraine, which will be played in November in Tirana.

Also, the proposals for the reconstruction of the field with artificial grass in the annex of the "Kastrioti" stadium and for the creation of a new field with synthetic grass in the "House of Football" were discussed and approved.

As for the sports infrastructure in Shkodër, the AFL in cooperation with the Vllaznia club and the Municipality of Shkodër have agreed on the construction of a field with natural grass in the Postribë administrative unit and on the support of the field reconstruction project at the "Zmijani Sports Complex".

In relation to the infrastructure, the request for financial support was also approved in reference to the project for the reconstruction of the carpet and dressing rooms at "Myslim Koci", in Gramsh.

During the meeting, the proposals for the centralization of the VAR system and the proposal for the creation of a television platform FSHF - TV were discussed and approved.
