Modric's era at Real Madrid ends, the Croatian leaves after 13 years

Luka Modric will play his last home game for Real Madrid this weekend. The Galacticos have made official the decision to end their cooperation with the 39-year-old.
His last experience with Real Madrid will be at the Club World Cup. So from July, if Modric does not retire from football, he will have the opportunity for another adventure.
Joining Real in 2012, Modric became one of the most important players for the Spanish giants.
The 39-year-old has made 590 appearances for Real, winning 28 trophies, including 6 UEFA Champions Leagues, 6 FIFA Club World Cups, 5 UEFA Super Cups, 4 La Liga titles, 2 Copa del Reys and 5 Spanish Super Cups.
The greatest individual success during his time as a Real player was winning the Ballon d'Or. He was also named the best player by FIFA and UEFA in an unforgettable year for him, 2018.
"Real Madrid wishes Luka Modric and his family all the best in this new phase of their lives. The Santiago Bernabeu will honor you this Saturday, in the last challenge you will play with our team," Real wrote, among other things, in the long post on social networks.
The decision was somewhat unexpected, as Modric himself wanted to continue the collaboration for at least another season.
